Enterprise Resource Planning and Student Information System Chosen for Digital Transformation

Newark, NJ, April 8, 2019 – Edge, New Jersey’s nonprofit research and education network and technology solutions center, announced the award of a contract to Jenzabar, a leading cloud-based software and services provider to the higher education community, for the delivery of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Student Information System (SIS). This award is the culmination of a comprehensive RFP process conducted by Edge in partnership with a team of experts from among its member colleges with the intent of providing business solutions capabilities to its constituents via it’s New Jersey Department of Community Affairs-approved cooperative pricing system, EdgeMarket.

In addition to highly competitive pricing, Jenzabar was selected based on its software as a service delivery model and key functionalities, such as an industry-leading mobile interface, interoperability with a broad range of 3rd party software solutions, and student-centric design. Jenzabar’s personalization and adaptability will meet the needs of traditional students as well as the growing demographic of non-traditional learners.

ERP/SIS systems serve as the hub for responding to the full spectrum of students’ needs throughout their educational journey. The Jenzabar One solution and Jenzabar Student effectively addressed Edge members’ needs for institutional management of key organizational data related to prospecting, admissions, financial aid, registration and class scheduling, retention, and student success overall. In response to its member institutions’ demand for ERP software as an essential solution and service, Edge facilitated, via its EdgeMarket cooperative pricing system, a timely process to define system requirements, develop a corresponding request for proposal, and conduct a detailed examination of potential solution providers. By working through the RFP process with a select group of constituent schools, the resulting awards will allow these schools and others across the country to be able to quickly access and implement Jenzabar’s highly evolved solutions in support of their digital transformation efforts.

“Modern ERP systems are essential to the operations of any high-performing institution,” said Dr. Samuel Conn, President & CEO of Edge. “It became evident to us that a contract vehicle that would allow our members to quickly and effectively leverage the software and services of a best-in-class ERP provider would be incredibly beneficial. We’re excited to work with Jenzabar because they bring a forward-thinking mindset to our membership via a cloud-based ERP platform.”

“As higher education institutions transition to be more student-centric organizations, they require the agility and responsiveness to meet the demanding needs and expectations of the new student,” said Pete Tyrrell, Chief Revenue Officer, Jenzabar. “We are pleased to be working with Edge and its member institutions as they make the digital transformation required to provide a more personalized, seamless student experience to enable students to reach their full potential.”

Edge members will also have the unique advantage of access to the organization’s EdgePro solution set, which includes services designed to ensure the success of digital transformation projects involving ERP/SIS implementations. Available services such as readiness assessments, organizational change management training, business process review and optimization, and project management training for institutional staff will equip them with the tools they need to achieve a successful ERP/SIS implementation.
