Newark, NJ, July 13, 2023 – Dr. Forough Ghahramani, Assistant Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Sponsored Programs, Edge, has been appointed to serve a 3-year term on the Engineering Research Visioning Alliance (ERVA) Standing Council– a National Science Foundation-funded activity designed to catalyze the engineering community’s pursuit of innovative, high-impact research that benefits society. 

The ERVA Standing Council is the research and technology brain trust, guiding prospective visioning activities and providing feedback to the ERVA Executive Committee. The ERVA Standing Council consists of dozens of academic, industry, government, and non-profit leaders whose expertise spans various disciplines and research areas. Notably, the Standing Council guides, substantiates, and promotes ideas for visioning events, and recommends thought leaders for Thematic Task Forces of interdisciplinary domain experts rapidly assembled to scope and frame topics for ideas that are promoted to visioning events.

The ERVA Standing Council is the intellectual brain trust providing fuel to the ERVA engine, which solicits and integrates input from all stakeholders with interest in engineering research. The Standing Council convenes quarterly to explore contemporary and future research/translational opportunities.
