Tyrrell to Cultivate ‘Service Excellence’ Culture

Newark, NJ – Academic and research technology consortium Edge announces the promotion of Bruce Tyrrell to Director of Member Services. In his new role, Bruce will elevate customer service by fostering a “service excellence” culture in response to membership needs. To accomplish this strategic goal, Bruce and his team will introduce operational efficiencies that streamline all transactions processes such as billing, contracting and services acquisition as well as contract development and service level agreements. Additionally, Bruce will oversee the development of accelerated custom service through an online self-service portal and application environment. All services will include 24/7 cloud based phone support and third party operational support.

Bruce has 24 years’ experience in telecommunications operations and service delivery, IT solution development, project and service management. He has worked with Edge since the earliest iteration of the network and has significant experience with Higher Education, State Government, K-12, local and county government IT environments and processes. Bruce holds an ITIL V3 certification which is the most widely adopted approach for IT service management in the world, providing a practical, no-nonsense framework for identifying, planning and supporting IT services.
