CC* Regional Networking: Connectivity through Regional Infrastructure for Scientific Partnerships, Innovation, and Education (CRISPIE)

Edge, in collaboration with six higher education institutions in New Jersey, including Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) and community colleges, seeks to improve access to advanced research networks and related cyber-infrastructure, aiming to reduce disparities for smaller and less resourced institutions. This initiative focuses on enhancing internet connectivity, deploying network monitoring and optimization capability, and offering specialized training programs to bolster research and education and enhance professional IT support. Campus Cyberinfrastructure (CC*) Planning Grant

The Campus Cyberinfrastructure (CC*) program invests in coordinated campus-level networking and cyberinfrastructure improvements, innovation, integration, and engineering for science applications and distributed research projects. Learning and workforce development (LWD) in cyberinfrastructure is explicitly addressed in the program. Science-driven requirements are the primary motivation for any proposed activity.

NSF ADVANCE Partnership: New Jersey Equity in Commercialization Collective (NJECC)

The NJECC will address gender equity issues in academic technology commercialization (patenting, licensing, and startup creation) by focusing on the elimination of systemic institutional and entrepreneurial eco-system barriers.

Edge is pleased to be the recipient of the Verizon PEG funds for 2022. Through this program fund, video production and editing equipment and training programs are available for use in the development of local programming content that can be shown on local public, educational and governmental (PEG) access channels. Edge manages the grant for Verizon as well as the interface with the participating County and Community colleges.

The PRP is a partnership of more than 50 institutions, led by researchers at UC San Diego and UC Berkeley and includes the National Science Foundation, Department of Energy, and multiple research universities in the US and around the world. The PRP  provides a seamless research platform that encourages collaboration on a broad range of data-intensive fields and projects.

Edge participated as a collaborating partner on the U.S. Department of Education 2020 Open Textbook Pilot Program Grant lead by Middlesex County College (MCC). The project that has been funded is for $1.4 million over three years for the Open Textbook Collaborative Project in which MCC will organize efforts with New Jersey community colleges (including Passaic, Brookdale, and Ocean), along with Rowan University. The project provides support for designing and piloting open textbook courses, as well as professional development. Edge will serve on the advisory committees for the project as well as provide Educational Technology Management service and expertise.
