LAURENCE COCCO

Associate Vice President for Government Relations

Serving as the governmental and partnership liaison to advance initiatives at the local, state, and federal levels in concert with Edge capabilities and strategic objectives, Larry works with government officials and public associations across New Jersey. With over a decade of experience in New Jersey State K-12 & Higher Education, he has served as Director of Educational Technology for the New Jersey Department of Education, the Board of Directors for the national State Educational Technology Directors Association (SETDA), and was recognized in 2014 as SETDA State Leader of the Year. Larry attended New York University where he received a graduate degree in Educational Communication and Technology. Widely known for his ability to transform K-20 education through the design and implementation of 21st century teaching strategies and learning environments, Larry is a perfect choice to bring the depth and breadth of Edge capabilities to the benefit of public schools and governmental entities in New Jersey. Current and future Edge members benefit from Larry’s experience in statewide collaborations, procurement initiatives, grant-funded projects, and legislative advancements.

TRISH CONNOR

Executive Director for Business Development

When it comes to finding solutions to complex technical problems, no one does it better than Trish. With over 20 years of experience in account management, consultative solutions architecture, and client development in higher education and K-12 markets, her proven ability to meet institutional needs and challenges by applying Edge solutions and services is second to none. Trish’s experience in the digital transformation of education institutions includes enrollment management solutions, use of open educational resources, technologies for student persistence, and integrated portals for college access and career readiness. As technology has impacted how students live, work, and go to school, Trish has been at the center of progress in educational testing, academic management services, and industry partnerships that facilitate digital and online education. Always in search of a problem to solve, she works with members through a consultative approach to architect and deliver technology solutions to complex challenges. Whether working on a solution or just catching up to chat about emerging technologies, a conversation with Trish is a great place to start.

MICHAEL HACKER

Associate Vice President for Professional Services and Technology Advancement

After spending over a decade in technology service management, Michael knows the importance of delivering quality professional services engagements. As the Associate Vice President for Professional Services and Technology Advancement for Edge, he works with members who are involved in enterprise digital transformation initiatives and projects to ensure positive outcomes in leveraging technology. Certified in ITIL V3, along with a Bachelor of Science degree from Montclair State University, Michael is also an award winner for excellence in service as the 2012 J.D. Power and Associates Customer Service Champion.  Whether its working on a cybersecurity initiative, migrating infrastructure to the cloud, or assisting with enterprise information systems planning and execution, Michael connects with members at professional and technical levels for optimal return on investment of technology spend. A life-long New Jersey native, Michael is everyone’s “go-to” guy for results.

CAITLIN KAPLAN

Associate Vice President Accounting & Controller

In her role as Controller at Edge, Caitlin is responsible for overseeing the accounting operations, including financial reports, audits and accounting records. With a sharp eye for detail, she  ensures that all of Edge’s reported results adhere to strict compliance measures and accounting principles.  Her most recent experiences include a six-year term  at New Jersey’s Institute of Technology where she held the position of  Account Manager which was preceded by a six-year tenure as an Auditor in KPMG’s non-profit sector.  Caitlin received her B.A. in Accounting from Muhlenberg College.

JEREMY LIVINGSTON

Associate Vice President for Security Solutions Development and Chief Information Security Officer

Most of us don’t think about the scary dark world lurking behind our computer screens. The concept of what, or who, lurks behind the screen is not often considered until after an attack has taken place and a part of us has been stolen. Thankfully there are people like Jeremy who understand the security realm and oversee cybersecurity and develop security solutions for Edge’s EdgeSecure. Jeremy serves as Edge’s new Associate Vice President for Security Solutions Development and Chief Information Security Officer. His previous experience includes a lengthy list of prestigious positions, as he began his career in cybersecurity while serving in the Navy doing cryptography and IQ security. Following his post in the Navy, Jeremy was honored to work as the Senior Information Systems Security Analyst supporting the CIO to the Executive Office of the President of the United States. He served on a team of security engineers who reviewed everything entering the White House network, including software, hardware, and full security assessments. After serving in the White House, Jeremy continued his deep and varied background within the security realm, which included being the Chief Information Security Officer to the PEW Charitable Trusts in Washington D.C., the U. S. Government’s Food and Drug Administration, the Office of the Inspector General for the Federal Housing Finance Agency as well as security related engagements with the Goddard Space Flight Center, the National Nuclear Security Agency, and the U.S. Department of Labor. Jeremy also enjoys teaching security at a local community college, as well as several security certification courses online. Just about every week another institution deals with a data breach, which is why Jeremy is excited to join forces with Edge members. Jeremy leads Edge’s cybersecurity program known as EdgeSecure, working with organizations and institutions to ensure they achieve a security profile that minimizes risk. His goal is to help all member institutions make informed risk-based decisions and operate secure networks.

ADAM SCARZAFAVA

Associate Vice President for Marketing and Communications

As an experienced marketing professional and communications strategist Adam’s passion is connecting people with technology solutions, products, and services. After spending the past eight years with a premiere technology solutions provider in executive digital marketing and communications roles, Adam joined Edge in 2018 to help current and new members learn about and take full advantage of digital media, cloud, networking, security, and professional service solutions. Adam’s experience and track record as a top college athlete makes him no stranger to competition in today’s digital world. Graduating magna cum laude from Muhlenberg College, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in marketing and then began his career at the Global Options Group in New York City. Besides technology, on any given day Adam can be found coaching little league baseball or snowboarding.

JIM STANKIEWICZ

Associate Vice President and Principal Network Architect

Jim Stankiewicz leads the technical management team with a future-forward approach that embraces a long-term vision of an integrated K-20 portal for the NJ educational community. With responsibility for the Edge network infrastructure, Jim guides his team through complex engineering project activities that drive customer performance, utilization, problem resolution and the overall effectiveness of the Edge network. Jim’s 25+-years of experience in communications and network development are key drivers for Edge’s commitment to adaptive and defined technology solutions. Jim holds certification in CCIP (Certified CISCO Internet Professional) and CCSP (Certified CISCO Security Professional).

BRUCE TYRRELL

Associate Vice President Programs & Services

Since the infancy of Edge, Bruce Tyrrell’s roots with Higher Education, State Government, K-12, local and county government IT environments has served as a foundation for defined solutions and transformative engagement experience for all Edge members. With a keen emphasis on realizing the strategic goals of the consortium, his member-focused approach continues to drive maximum benefit for all Edge constituents. Bruce holds an ITIL V3 certification – one of the most widely adopted approaches for IT service management in the world, providing a practical, no-nonsense framework for identifying, planning and supporting IT services.
