LAURENCE COCCO

Associate Vice President for Government Relations

Serving as the governmental and partnership liaison to advance initiatives at the local, state, and federal levels in concert with NJEdge capabilities and strategic objectives, Larry works with government officials and public associations across New Jersey. With over a decade of experience in New Jersey State K-12 & Higher Education, he has served as Director of Educational Technology for the New Jersey Department of Education, the Board of Directors for the national State Educational Technology Directors Association (SETDA), and was recognized in 2014 as SETDA State Leader of the Year. Larry attended New York University where he received a graduate degree in Educational Communication and Technology. Widely known for his ability to transform K-20 education through the design and implementation of 21st century teaching strategies and learning environments, Larry is a perfect choice to bring the depth and breadth of NJEdge capabilities to the benefit of public schools and governmental entities in New Jersey. Current and future NJEdge members benefit from Larry’s experience in statewide collaborations, procurement initiatives, grant-funded projects, and legislative advancements.

BRYNN DEPREY, Ph.D.

Associate Vice President for Community Engagement and Industry Alliances

Brynn Deprey brings a new level of insight and expertise to NJEdge with her extensive background in the areas of membership development activities, communities of practice, and professional growth events. Combined with her collaborative and outcome-based leadership style, she is uniquely qualified to bring NJEdge’s mission and vision to life through a combination of fully integrated conferences, workshops, forums, and training events. In her most recent position, Brynn worked with Connecticut Education Network (CEN) where she contributed to CEN’s significant growth. Brynn received a Ph.D. in International Business from Anglia Ruskin University, an MA in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a BA in French from the College of the Holy Cross.

CAITLIN KAPLAN

Controller

In her role as Controller at NJEdge, Caitlin is responsible for overseeing the accounting operations, including financial reports, audits and accounting records. With a sharp eye for detail, she  ensures that all of NJEdge’s reported results adhere to strict compliance measures and accounting principles.  Her most recent experiences include a six-year term  at New Jersey’s Institute of Technology where she held the position of  Account Manager which was preceded by a six-year tenure as an Auditor in KPMG’s non-profit sector.  Caitlin received her B.A. in Accounting from Muhlenberg College.

MICHAEL REEKIE

Director of Network and Security Operations

Michael Reekie is NJEdge’s subject matter expert who actively manages the organization’s network and security operations. This includes the programmatic implementation of policies and procedures to conform to NIST security controls, while obtaining operational efficiency and rapid deployment control of new network additions and network integration. Michael served as a Network Engineer at Montclair State University for fifteen years prior to transitioning his experience to lead NJEdge’s network and security team. He received a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Electrical Engineering and Network Information Systems with a concentration Secure Network Design from Stevens Institute of Technology and a BS in Computer Science from Montclair State University.

ADAM SCARZAFAVA

Associate Vice President for Marketing and Communications

As an experienced marketing professional and communications strategist Adam’s passion is connecting people with technology solutions, products, and services. After spending the past eight years with a premiere technology solutions provider in executive digital marketing and communications roles, Adam joined NJEdge in 2018 to help current and new members learn about and take full advantage of digital media, cloud, networking, security, and professional service solutions. Adam’s experience and track record as a top college athlete makes him no stranger to competition in today’s digital world. Graduating magna cum laude from Muhlenberg College, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in marketing and then began his career at the Global Options Group in New York City. Besides technology, on any given day Adam can be found coaching little league baseball or snowboarding.

JIM STANKIEWICZ

Principal Network Architect

Jim Stankiewicz leads the technical management team with a future-forward approach that embraces a long-term vision of an integrated K-20 portal for the NJ educational community. With responsibility for the NJEdge network infrastructure, Jim guides his team through complex engineering project activities that drive customer performance, utilization, problem resolution and the overall effectiveness of the Edge network. Jim’s 25+-years of experience in communications and network development are key drivers for NJEdge’s commitment to adaptive and defined technology solutions. Jim holds certification in CCIP (Certified CISCO Internet Professional) and CCSP (Certified CISCO Security Professional).

BRUCE TYRRELL

Senior Director, Programs and Services

Since the infancy of NJEdge, Bruce Tyrrell’s roots with Higher Education, State Government, K-12, local and county government IT environments has served as a foundation for defined solutions and transformative engagement experience for all NJEdge members. With a keen emphasis on realizing the strategic goals of the consortium, his member-focused approach continues to drive maximum benefit for all NJEdge constituents. Bruce holds an ITIL V3 certification – one of the most widely adopted approaches for IT service management in the world, providing a practical, no-nonsense framework for identifying, planning and supporting IT services.
