Laura Romeo, Ph.D.

As Director of Digital Learning Innovation, Scholarship, and Educational Services at Edge, Laura brings over a decade of experience as an instructional designer, teacher educator, and curriculum specialist. Her career began in an elementary classroom and expanded through doctoral research and university teaching into a leadership role supporting inclusive, high-impact digital learning. Since joining Edge in 2023, she has helped institutions design future-ready educational experiences, led scholarly publishing efforts like EdgeCon Proceedings, and supported institutional growth in instructional design, grant strategy, and ADA compliance. A graduate of Wake Forest University and North Carolina State University, Laura’s work is grounded in the belief that great learning design starts with understanding and supporting diverse learner needs. Outside of work, she can be found fostering rescue dogs, singing along at pop punk concerts, or drawing chalk rocketships with her daughter.
