Finding the Way to Yes: Research Security as a Partnership

Finding the Way to Yes: Research Security as a Partnership
Webinar
Date: September 22, 2026
Time: 2:00 pm
Research requires collaboration, access to data, specialized technology, and sometimes unconventional solutions. Cybersecurity and compliance requirements can therefore feel like barriers, but an automatic “no” does not serve the institution, and an unrestricted free-for-all does not protect researchers, participants, or their work.
Drawing on Fairleigh Dickinson University’s evolving approach, this session will present perspectives from research compliance and cybersecurity on building a practical pathway to “yes.” Topics will include secure data storage, human-subject protections, international collaboration, data-use agreements, intellectual property concerns, technology selection, and an efficient review and escalation process.
