Demand for online storage continues to increase exponentially. To assist members with this challenge, NJEDge has developed a network-attached storage platform, located in the data center at Montclair State University. The architecture of this service allows for redundancy and load balancing, supporting thousands of live streams and video uploads involving terabytes of simultaneous data transfer. NJEDge members can request this service with a starting storage capacity from five terabytes and scaling upwards.
This type of “on net” resource provides NJEDge members with a cost effective, off-site storage and disaster recovery solution. The storage servers are located in geographically diverse co-location facilities for enhanced redundancy and physical security. Members can currently use this service for a variety of storage applications, such as off-site back-ups, business continuity and disaster recovery, as well as archiving historical data.
