Title: Tech Therapy is coming to NJEdge.Net!
AbstractThis popular interactive podcast from The Chronicle of Higher Education (available at http://chronicle.com), is hosted by Chronicle reporter Scott Carlson and technology consultant Warren Arbogast. Scott and Warren will be presenting via video conference to Conference 6.0 participants on Friday, November 20. They will start the session with a 20-minute presentation, then answer questions from the audience.
Tech Therapy addresses file sharing, the future of college libraries, how to “green” IT, and other tech headaches and tech resolutions. This enlightening session will provide answers, and maybe spark more questions from CIO’s, faculty members, professional staff, and students at the conference.
Scott Carlson and Warren Aborgast will answer questions you have about trends, pros and cons of emerging technologies.
BiographyWarren Arbogast is known as a creative visionary. An artist, writer, and communications expert, Arbogast has, for more than 20 years, consulted leaders of such organizations as Nike and Pfizer and institutions of higher learning such as Stanford and the University of Pennsylvania.
It has often been said that the value Arbogast brings to audiences and clients is helping them see the world differently, more clearly, and more creatively. In a 2004 article in The Chronicle of Higher Education, clients told a reporter that Arbogast served them as a technology therapist and translator. A Dutch web service dubbed Arbogast the “Dr. Phil for IT-use in Higher Education.”
But Arbogast talks about far more than education, technology, and organizational goal setting! Arbogast talks about dreaming, doing, and developing a passion for progress.
His career is rooted in the popular refrain of “if you can dream it, you can do it.” As an undergraduate, he created his own major and “sold” his vision to a team of tenured faculty. Early in his career, Arbogast was nominated for a Congressional Award for Creativity. He’s taught in the MBA program at the University of Virginia’s top-ranked Darden School of Business; and he’s published a poetry book and edited a photography book. Arbogast even envisioned himself as a “different man” and developed his own diet and exercise program - prior to shedding (healthfully!) 125 pounds.
“If you can see it, you can get it,” he says.
Arbogast has been Vice President at a NASDAQ-traded consulting firm; and, he’s an experienced entrepreneur who founded his own successful management consulting firm. He’s worked with, and provided inspirational leadership and direction to, hundreds of organizational, academic, and technology experts across the United States and in Canada, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates. He is regularly quoted in such publications as USA Today and The Chronicle of Higher Education.
Arbogast appears regularly on ”Tech Therapy”(http://chronicle.com/techtherapy). He has two children and lives in Washington, DC.
