With the increased use of web-based tools and experiences in higher education, should we be changing our view of instructional or institutional planning and support? How do the results of a recent study on the impacts of faculty professional development and online course design potentially affect future training opportunities or how faculty view collaborative learning or student centered social computing techniques? A presentation of the findings will be placed in the context of the enterprise, and question how we plan, adopt, train and support applications as we move towards web based environments that challenge our sense of control.
