The decision making process for upgrading operating systems and productivity suite software often starts with pre-release versions, well before the official release even if deployment is months or years away. With the release of two new products from Microsoft in January, IT departments at many Colleges have begun to evaluate when to move to Microsoft Windows Vista and Office 2007. The College of New Jersey's IT department deployed Office 2007 and Windows XP this summer. This presentation will include the decision making process, the rollout procedure, the follow-up including faculty and staff feedback and recommendations for improvement.
