Verizon Business' recent acquisition of Cybertrust, plus the expansion of their legacy portfolio provides higher educational institutions with the addition of a number of important services to discuss. Cybertrust, a leader in the Payment Card Industry (PCI) assessment market and contributor to the specification brings options for assessments, vulnerability scanning and other components mandated by PCI. The merger also provides Verizon Business customers with CorporateSSL, Cybertrust's trusted SSL certificate program. Additionally, there have been extensions made in areas such as host-based and network-based intrusion detection/prevention management and monitoring, including the ability to offer monitor-only services. Verizon Business professional services such as Forensics and Voice over IP assessments have been expanded and Notification Services have been added as well, designed to assist customers in contacting individuals rapidly in case of emergency needs.
